Trackpad4Game
Play games on a laptop touchpad: keys become mouse buttons.
- Keys as mouse buttons. V and B act as left and right click; holding the key holds the button, so mining in Minecraft works.
- No stray taps. The touchpad's own clicks and taps are blocked while it is on; the pointer, the taskbar and the tray still work.
- Pointer keeps moving. Palm rejection is turned off while it is on, so you can aim while holding keys. Your own setting comes back afterwards.
- Only in your game. Optionally acts only while Minecraft (Java or Bedrock) or another game you pick is in front.
- One toggle. Press the backtick key in your game, or use the switch in the tray panel. A small badge shows on or off.
Features
- Mouse buttons on keys
- V is the left button and B the right; holding a key holds the button. Click a key in the panel and press a new one to change it.
- Touchpad blocking
- The touchpad's clicks and taps are blocked while it is on, so a stray tap doesn't attack or place a block. Moving the pointer still works, and the taskbar and tray stay clickable.
- Pointer keeps moving
- Windows pauses the pointer for a moment after each key press (palm rejection). While trackpad4game is on, that pause is turned off, so you can aim while holding V, B or W/A/S/D. Your own touchpad setting is put back afterwards. Windows 11 with a precision touchpad.
- Game only
- Optionally acts only while one of your games is the active window (Minecraft Java and Bedrock by default); everywhere else the keys and touchpad behave normally. Open a game, then click the tray icon to add it.
- On and off
- Press the backtick key, or use the switch in the tray panel. A short sound and a small on-screen badge show the state, and the tray icon lights up when it is on.
- Tips
- While it is on, the game no longer sees the click keys, so pick other keys if the game uses V or B. Turn blocking off if you plug in a mouse. Games running as administrator need trackpad4game run as administrator too.
Installing
- Windows
- Put trackpad4game.exe in its own folder and run it; to update, replace the old exe (your settings are kept). SmartScreen may warn because the exe is not code-signed. Windows 10 or 11, nothing else to install.
